I have a good number of tracks with tempo changes. On each track, I set the track color (I have a system for indicating how long I have to mix the track in, like yellow for 16 bars and green for 32 and so on). Within SDJ, I have crates (for gigs) and Smart Crates (for keys and BPM ranges). I do not import tracks for any other locations.

I have iTunes set up to consolidate and organize my library, so all of my tracks are in the iTunes folder structure.įrom iTunes, I drag tracks into Mixed in Key only for key tagging.įinally, I have SDJ set to automatically import my iTunes library. into iTunes, where I create genre Smart Playlists and edit metadata (artist, album, title, etc.). I import all my songs from Beatport, Soundcloud, etc. Beatgrid with Smart Sync (tracks with tempo changes).Side note: do the DJM-S9 or the XDJ-1000 (or any other Pioneer hardware) come with a Rekordbox DJ license, like how Serato-branded hardware often includes a Serato DJ license? However, I'm worried about losing all my metadata from SDJ.Īnyone else have experience exporting SDJ metadata to Rekordbox? Seems like it's the standard now, and judging by what I read in the latest manual, I might be jumping ship (or at least running both SDJ and Rekordbox). I remember seeing it in action a few times since it came out, and it looked very limited.
